What’s a Killick?
n. a kind of anchor formed by a stone enclosed
by pieces of wood fastened together.
(Webster’s Dictionary)
At Killick Productions we are proud of our heritage in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. When looking for a name we chose Killick – a homemade anchor with a stone surrounded by 3 or 4 pieces of wood that while Scottish in origin has been used throughout fishing communities in Newfoundland for hundreds of years. Many people have seen this style of anchor without realizing that it was called a Killick. Our logo is a stylized representation of a Killick using the three colours of component video Red, Green and Blue.
