The Killick Productions team of industry professionals possesses a wealth of experience in video production. Under the direction of John Bonnell the crew has worked on projects for national broadcasters such as TSN, YTV, Showcase, Platinum TV, HGTV, LIFE, CBS news, ABC Primetime, WTN and CBC Newsworld. They have also produced promotional videos and commercials for the Federal Government, numerous departments of the Provincial Government, the College of the North Atlantic, the Fisheries and Marine Institute and the municipalities of Mt. Pearl , St. John's, Gander and Deer Lake . John has produced videos for the Healthcare Corporation of St.John's, Med Atlantic, Scotiabank, Grenfell Regional Health Services and the Newfoundland Environmental Industry Association as well as an oil and gas industry recruitment video for high school students produced in cooperation with Petroleum Industry Human Resources Committee.

At Killick Productions we are very proud of the team of professionals we can offer to our clients. The following list of industry professionals are all associated with Killick Productions. Depending on the requirements of the project, not all of the team may be involved with the production.

John Bonnell – Producer, Director and Editor
 
Killick Productions owner John Bonnell is an award winning producer, director and editor with over twenty years of experience in the television industry with TSN, HGTV, YTV, WTN, Just Ask Jon Eakes , Extra , Design Rivals , CBC Here and Now , CTV, ABC News Primetime , and CBC Newsworld. John was the editor for the Noel Harris film Two or More , the principal editor for TSN's complete coverage of the 1999 Canada Winter Games and the technical producer and editor for the documentary The Mushuau Innu, Surviving Canada . He has produced hundreds of commercials and corporate videos for clients within the province resulting in numerous national awards. His work as a producer and director has been recognized with 16 Awards of Excellence from the Canadian Cable Television Association. John has conducted many media training seminars as well as training courses in EFP, audio, lighting and directing. He has also composed and produced music for soundtracks and jingles and is experienced in shooting aerial footage from helicopters as well as underwater video. John produced, directed and edited the reality series Define Yourself and its highly rated 2 nd season under its new name Finding Balance.

Kevin Hanlon – Camera
Kevin is a veteran camera operator with over 25 years experience at the CBC working on programs including Land and Sea , Here and No w, On Camera and a variety of documentaries and specials. Kevin has also worked on numerous projects with John Bonnell including TSN's coverage of the 1999 Canada Winter Games , the Millennium Minute commercials for YTV, The Mushuau Innu, Surviving Canada and magazine stories for national broadcasters such as TSN, HGTV, CBS, WTN, Canadian Living Television and EXTRA. Kevin is a regular member of the crew for the Newfoundland tryouts for Canadian Idol.

Gerry Davis – Camera and Editing
Gerry has 33 years experience in the broadcasting industry in ENG camera operations and editing. He pioneered the craft in the region as the first ENG technician at CBC (Newfoundland & Labrador). From 1984 to 1997 he was the National ENG Cameraman/Editor for the Network News Service and was chosen to cover major events such as Atlanta Summer Olympics, Expo 86, royal visits and political conventions. He was often called upon to shoot segments for CBC programs such as the Journal, News Magazine and the Fifth Estate. Gerry has worked with John for TSN, HGTV, ABC Primetime Thursday and on the documentary The Mushuau Innu, Surviving Canada.

Tom Voisey – Lighting
Tom is a diversified production professional with over 20 years of lighting and audio experience. Through his work at the CBC he has acquired an impressive resume of lighting for major events, studio productions, location interviews, variety specials and dramas. Tom was the lighting director for CBC's coverage of the Provincial Liberal Leadership Convention and the Christmas special at the Anglican Cathedral hosted by Governor General Adrienne Clarkson. He has also served as lighting director for Vision Television's Steeple Chasing and many local films and documentaries.

Bob Petrie – Director of Photography/Gaffer
Bob's more than 25 years experience as a D.O.P and Gaffer in the province's film industry is unparalleled. As a Director of Photography he has worked on a variety of projects including Legends and Lore (Global TV), the provincial government's Made Right Here campaign and NIFCO's Congratulations film for the Toronto Film Festival. As a gaffer Bob's services are in demand throughout Atlantic Canada for television series, movies of the week and feature films including Trudeau (CBC), Hatching Matching and Dispatching (CBC), The Riverman (FOX), Catch a Falling Star (CBS), Hey Day (CBC) and Snow Angels (feature film).

Vaughn Rowsell - Location Sound Recordist
Vaughn has 15 years experience as a recording engineer with multi-track digital technology and computer editing software. After recording some of his own music in studios in Toronto , Vaughn returned to Newfoundland to open his own recording studio in 1992. Since that time he has recorded and produced over 35 CD's for various bands and artists throughout Newfoundland and Labrador . As part of Vaughn's sound recording business he is also a Location Sound Recordist for the film and television industry. Since 1997, he has worked on over 50 film and television productions; including Canadian Idol, The Fifth Estate and the Discovery Channel, to name a few.

Peter Evans – Computer Graphic Imagery
Peter has quickly established himself as one of the premiere talents in the country in the field of CGI. He creates CGI for a variety of clients including Corus Entertainment, the SPACE Channel and Killick Productions. He was nominated for a Genie Award for his work as the Visual Effects Supervisor for Pope Productions mini-series Above and Beyond which aired on CBC. Peter has handled all of the green screen effects for Killick Productions' 5 Avalon Mall commercials.

Danny Chapman – Graphic Design and Animation
Danny has worked as a Graphic Designer in the local advertising industry for the past 5 years. His work has been recognized with several awards both locally and nationally. Recently Danny left the corporate agency world to strike out as an independent graphic artist. In addition to print design Danny has created many websites and animations. Danny was the Art Director and Graphic Designer for Define Yourself and Finding Balance and has produced animations and still graphics for many other Killick Productions video projects including the Mt. Pearl Lifestyle Centre video.
